Corinth Sun Hat

This is a crochet hat that reminded me of Corinthian columns. It’s a hat to wear as you go visit Greece or Rome or anywhere in the Summer. It was really fun to make and super fast. I think I might make another soon.

Yarn: Medium Weight Natural Plant-Based Fiber Yarn

(100 grams)

Tools: Crochet Hook Size H (5mm)

Darning Needle to weave in ends.

Skill level: Advanced Beginner

Instructions:

Round 1: Make a yarn ring and ch 1 for stability. DC 12, pull tail to close circle and slip stitch to top of 1st DC.  (12 DCs total)

Round 2: ch 2 (counts as 1 DC), 2 DC in same st, ch 1 DC 2 in next st, ch 1 Repeat 10 times. Sl st in top of 2nd DC (the 3rd ch of the beginning of round) to close the round. (24 DCs total)

Round 3: ch 2, DC 2 in next sp, DC 1,  DC 2 in next sp Repeat 10 times. Sl st in 2nd DC to close the round. (36 DCs total)

Round 4: ch 2, DC in next st, ch 1,  DC 2 in next st, ch 1, skp next st   Repeat 16 times , Sl st in 2nd DC to close the round (36 DCs total)

Round 5: ch 2, 1 DC in same st, DC 2 in next sp DC 2 in next st, DC 2 in next sp Repeat 16 times. Sl st in 2nd DC to close the round.  (72 DCs total)

Round 6: ch2, 1 DC in next sp, ch 1, skp st 2DC, ch 1, skp st Repeat 22 times, sl st in 3rd st from the beginging to close round. (48 DCs total)

Round 7: ch 2, 2 DCs in next sp 1 DC, 2 DCs in next sp Repeat 22 times (72 DCs total)

Round 8: ch 2, DC in same st, ch 1, skp st, 2 DC, ch 1, skp st Repeat 22 times, sl st in 3 ch from the beginning to close the round (48 DCs total)

Rounds 9-14: Repeat Rounds 7 & 8 three times

Round 15: Same as Round 7

Round 16: ch 2, DC 6, 2 DCs in next st Repeat 9 times. 1 DC, sl st in 3rd st from beginning to close the round (82 DCs total)

Round 17: ch 2, DC 3, DC 2 in next st DC 7, DC 2 in next st Repeat 9 times. DC 6, sl st in 3rd st from the beginning to close the round (92 DCs total)

Round 18: ch 2 DC 8, DC 2 in next st Repeat 9 times. DC 1, sl st in 3rd st from the beginning to close the round. (102 DCs total)

Weave in ends so you can’t see them.
