Don’t Be Boring

We are the artists, the influencers, the creative talent, the indie designers. We are the unknown lights of a precious book. You ARE the star of this age. Be free to create art. Everything is going to be in a whirlwind in this lifetime. We have to let go of this stress of the world. We can’t be drenched every day to our eyeballs in the tornado of constant bad news. All this time in criticism, cringe cult activism and disappointment is wasted in what we can actually do to make people smile and have a good day.

I just made dinner out of what we had in the house. I don’t know how I did it. I mean it is amazing what happens when you just start cooking. It’s easy, you just chop it up, saute or simmer it and it’s done in an hour. It’s not from a video or a cookbook or anything I saw. I just made it and it looks good.

I’m about to try a stitch pattern right now. I’ve made this twice before but I want to do it again. I actually hate it because this lace stitch look like noses. But I am going to play around with it and see if it will resemble something more pleasing than two nostrils. This is unrecognized, unpaid, unappreciated work but I want to do it. It makes me happy yo use a skill to make something pleasing. I don’t want it to be something I’ve seen before buy something unique. Maybe it is something made previously by someone but I’m going to do it for fun.

Yesterday and today I watched a music video that I have never seen before. This pop sounding band is like the influence I had when I was a young teen listening to music that I just fell in love because of the happy beat. All my creative young sparks started to flow in my mind like a trigger and I forgot about the troubles of the world, the complaining, the warnings, the scary news of the day. It was all wiped away. It made me forget about wars and constant negative news that we seem to not be able to get away from.

There is a saying I used to tell my kids all the time. “Don’t be boring”. I hope today you wear something creative and let everyone think you’re an artist. Actually, you are an artist! Let’s get this party started. Shut off the news and listen to something happy and create. Then show someone and watch them smile. What an accomplishment!
